A truly unique show on Friday night is the CKDU Karaoke Party at Gus’s Pub, hosted by synth-rock gods Windom Earle. Far from your standard issue karaoke horror show, where your ears are tortured by offkey Kenny Rogers and Journey “interpretations,” this shindig will allow attendees to perform songs by local indie bands like the aforementioned Mr. Earle, Sharp Like Knives, Stolen Minks and the Maynards, to name a few. The show starts at 10 p.m. and admission is a measly toonie.
